Our popular kickboxing class designed for children is taught
by Amy Hulme who is a respected Instructor within NWCKB. The class provides an even
mix of fun and work within a well structured routine – something which is essential
in order for children to learn effectively. |
NWCKB believe that children benefit greatly from the core principles of the martial
arts – Discipline, Respect and Hard Work. These will combine hopefully to produce
confidence in every young student.
|
The children train for one hour which is an appropriate span of time in order to maintain
concentration. An average class would start with footwork drills which are great for
coordination. Next, we’d move onto conditioning eg. press ups, sit ups ensuring that the
children partner each other to build up confidence. The class would then progress to basic
flexibility with kicking and punching drills. These are all great fun!
| |
Amy has been teaching our long running classes for children for over two years and has
produced some very talented young martial artists.
|
 |
Please feel free to drop in and watch a class and talk to Amy.
We take children from 4 years to 14 years at this class. Some of the older children may
feel too big for this class and we are aware of this so older children are welcome to try
the adult class if they prefer.
|
In accordance with NWCKB policy Amy is fully insured and CRB checked.
A register is taken at every class and collection of your child is strictly controlled from
within the gym for safety at all times.
A few reminders…
Please let our Instructor’s know if your child has a medical condition that may affect
their training eg. Asthma
Please leave a contact number in case of emergency.
Send your child to train in loose comfortable clothing.

"My name is Adam Wells, I'm 5 years old and started kickboxing when I was 4. I'm now onto
my orange belt and like working hard to get them. My instructors are Amy, Sue and Dan they
make my lessons fun and have taught me a lot. Calvin has been teaching us as well and I've been
practising my spinning jump kicks at home which he's taught us. I go kickboxing on a Tuesday
and Thursday and have loved making lots of new fiends and learning new things."
Adam, age 5, Orange belt. (Feb 2010)
"The instructors are all shouty apart from Sue but they are all very good because they teach
us good things and do it in a good way. They’re very strict but that is good because they
don’t let anyone mess around and spoil the club. That’s why I like going. I think I’ve learnt
lots of things. They make you do it good and have lots of fun."
Evie, age 6, Orange belt, student of the year 2009 (Feb 2010)
"North West Chinese Kickboxing classes have given our daughter confidence and fitness. She
has also learnt self-discipline, achieves regular goals and has lots of fun. The teaching
team is very small and stable. All 3 teachers are extremely committed, dedicated and interested
in their young students. The flexibility of just paying for each class (rather than for a
term or a year in advance) is helpful, both practically and financially. There is a choice
of 2 classes a week, which is also useful. The ‘pay as you go system’ gave our daughter the
opportunity to try out the class without any financial pressure on us and she can now miss a
class if we are away on holiday without any worries. She always wants to go each week and its
twice a week when she is getting ready for her next belt grading."
Helen and Sarah (Feb 2010)
